Job Type: Full Time
Shift: Monday through Friday – plus overtime when available
Work Location: Dansville, New York
Wage Range: $20-$25/hour
The Industrial Painter is responsible for maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring it is in working order, utilization of a wide array of painting tools and sandblasting metal painted surfaces and other duties as required. An Industrial Painter operates heavy machinery, must pay close attention to detail, and have good dexterity. This position requires stamina and physical strength.
Essential Responsibilities & Requirements
- Painting surfaces using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers
- Removing old paint from surfaces using tools such as sandblasters, paint remover, wire brush or scrapers
- Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring its proper working order
- Safely operate machinery such as overhead cranes, forklifts and related equipment
- Ensuring that high safety standards are maintained
- Utilization of special safety equipment and personal protective equipment
- Ensuring proper ventilation is available at all times
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience painting/blasting a variety of surfaces
- Proficiency with technical machinery
- Diligence and attention to detail
- Work up to or over a 10-hour shift doing hard physical work at times, with numerous hours spent in various locations
- Be able to work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
- Need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks
- Stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals
- The ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, fire resistant clothing, hard hat, vest, etc.)
- May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements including proper personal protective equipment
- Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings
- Good organizational skills
- Good verbal communication and interaction skills
