Senior Estimator
Shift: M-F, 40 + hours/week

Salary Range $99k – $130k/year
Job Summary
LMC Industrial Contractors is seeking a senior estimator to join our team. As a senior estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for complex construction projects, focusing on Infrastructure, Facility Construction, Renewable Energy and Process Piping. This role requires in-depth industry knowledge, advanced analytical skills and the ability to lead estimating teams.
Senior Estimator Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and requirements, writing workplans.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within projects and factor those into estimates.
- Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to management and clients.
- Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and estimating techniques.
- Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather crucial project information.
- Utilize and maintain proficiency in industry-standard estimating software.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry regulations.
- Identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
- Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on complex estimating tasks.
Senior Estimator Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
- Construction Estimating – 7+ years.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or related field degree.
Desired Skills and Certifications
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) from the American Society of Professional Estimators
- Certified Cost Professional (CPP) from AACE International
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Heavy Bid, Bid2win, Bluebeam, Procore, Sage Estimating or PlanSwift
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 software.
